Eight Brocade's Qigong Postures & Standing Forms

The Eight Brocade's Qigong is a series of poses and movements that are designed to improve and manintain health. It is important firstly to understand that your body is a system of channels through which vital energy courses and circulates throughout the entire body from head to foot. Qi is the energy that makes the nervous system and all other bodily functions work. By stimulating certain channels through breath, stretching and movement the energy in the body can circulate and do its work. Keeping the energy balanced and circulating throughout the body are the main principles of Qigong. Certain movements and exercises increase the flow of Qi to and around the internal organs. This in turn increases personal health and general well-being. It is recommended that the practioner do 2 or 3 of the the Eight Brocades each day to insure optimum health.
The standing poses are done with little or no movement. Focusing on the breath while holding the pose is all that is needed to gain the benefits of these forms.
